Dan Murray, founder of Sessions Lacrosse, built this on one idea: real development requires real structure. Every athlete who comes through gets a plan built around where they are and where they’re going not a generic drill package. We train both sides of the ball, correct mechanics in the rep, track progress, and make sure every session has a clear purpose.

We don’t drop athletes into a group and hope for the best. We evaluate first. One session tells us where they are, what format fits them, and what to prioritize. From there, the plan is built around them.

Random reps
don't stack.

Going out and working on your own is a great habit. But without structure, purpose, and progressions those reps don't build anything. A session has a plan. Every time.

Unstructured Training
  • Random drills with no connection between sessions
  • No plan = no measurable progress
  • Working on things you already do well instead of weaknesses
  • No feedback on mechanics or decision-making
  • Reps that don't build toward a specific outcome
  • Hard to know if you're actually improving
Sessions Lacrosse
  • Every session has a purpose and a reason it comes before the next one
  • We build the plan around your athlete, not a time slot
  • Mechanics get corrected in the rep, not after the season
  • One coach who knows your player's game not a rotation
  • Both sides of the ball because attackers who understand defense are harder to stop
  • You'll know exactly what was worked on and why it matters

Structure is what turns practice into real development. That's what Sessions is built on.

Private Training

One coach. One player. One specific outcome. Private sessions go deep on exactly what your player needs right now scoring fundamentals, dodging sequences, defensive footwork, lacrosse IQ.

If it’s your first time, we always start here. One session tells us where your athlete is, what format fits them, and what to work on first.

From the families
in our sessions.

My daughter came home from her first session and immediately wanted to go back. She has played for years but this was a different level of coaching. Dan made her feel confident and pushed her in the right way. Her footwork and stick skills improved faster than I expected. She looks forward to every session.

Coach Dan has made a real difference for my son. The instruction is tailored to him not a one-size-fits-all approach. His shooting, stick skills, footwork, and dodging have all improved. More than the technical side, his confidence on the field is night and day. We're grateful for everything he's done.

Silvia O.
Parent · Midfield · Class of 2033

My son is a defender and Dan took that seriously. He wasn't just running drills he was learning why he was running them. His positioning improved, his communication on the field got better, and his rec coach noticed before we even said anything. That told us everything.

Chris S.
Parent · Defense · Class of 2033

Dan is a great coach who gets you ready to compete. High intensity drills that actually mimic game situations nothing feels like filler. Since my son started working with him, the improvement in his confidence with his off-hand shots and his ability to free up his hands under pressure has been clear. Real results.

Pete R.
Parent · Class of 2031

My son had the skills but he was holding back not finishing plays, second-guessing himself. A few sessions in and that started to change. Dan identified exactly what was getting in his way and worked on it directly. He attacks the cage now. The hesitation is gone.

Lori V.
Parent · Attack · Class of 2032

My son used to dread extra training now he asks when his next session is. Dan keeps it challenging without making it feel like punishment. He's become a smarter defender, reads plays better, and carries himself differently on the field. The work is showing up.

Jordan M.
Parent · Defense · Class of 2031

My son is a midfielder and Dan understood what that position demands both ends of the field, transition, lacrosse IQ. He didn't just work on one thing. After a month the difference was visible. His movement off ball improved, he was finishing in traffic, and he was talking on defense. That's a complete player.

Jamie D.
Parent · Midfield · Class of 2028

My son is a junior and the recruiting process is real. Dan understood that and built sessions around what college coaches actually want to see footwork, efficiency, decision-making under pressure. He's sharper, faster to the ball, and his highlight film looks like a different player. We wish we had started sooner.

New to Sessions?

We recommend starting with a private session. It gives us a chance to see your player's skills firsthand, evaluate the right group fit, and understand what they need most before putting them in a competitive setting. From there, we build the right plan.

Tell us the basics and we'll reach out with the right fit.

Takes about 2 minutes. No commitment.
